Dear Old friends and New,
Rogers Animal Hospital wishes to inform you of our new business hours M-F 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. For after regular business hours Emergencies, please dial our regular number 903-872-6655 and your call will be answered by our answering service and the doctor on call will be contacted. You may have to leave a message and your call will be returned. My associate, and I are seeing patients daily, both large and small animals. Our cattle clients will be pleased to know that our large animal barn is refurbished and we now have a new W-W Super-Pro Hydraulic Squeeze chute. This new chute allows us to handle cattle much easier and more safely, especially for large breed cows and bulls. If you or someone you know handles rodeo bucking bulls, we now do EID tagging and age verification and registration for American Bucking Bull, Inc. (ABBI).
We have a new Bowie Mobile Veterinary Unit and 4x4 truck to supply mobile veterinary services to your home, farm, or ranch. We offer a pickup and delivery service for small and large animals if they need to be brought to our hospital for treatment or hospitalization. We offer a complete line of animal health products including custom cattle vaccines. These custom vaccines offer the latest genetic up-grades which includes DNA fingerprinting by Newport Laboratories. This process allows us to identify new pathogenic strains of bacteria that evolve in our area and across the state causing respiratory disease and other diseases in our cattle. If you have experienced eye problems or Pinkeye cases recently in your cattle and commercial pinkeye vaccines have failed, you probably are encountering a new Pinkeye strain called Moraxella ovis or Moraxella bovoculi. We have a custom vaccine that will provide protection for this strain of Moraxella that is plaguing the industry.
If you handle stocker-feeder cattle, roping calves, or other cattle that are at high risk for developing “Shipping Fever” (Bovine Respiratory Disease), we offer custom autogenous vaccines that protect against local strains of Pasteurella, Manheimia, H. Somnus, and Mycoplasma. Administered properly, these vaccines produce protective antibody titers that significantly reduce morbidity and mortality rates in these calves. Commercial vaccines or “off the shelf” bacterins purchased on-line or directly from veterinary distribution companies cannot compare to custom vaccines. We continue to utilize the professional pharmacy services of West Texas Pharmacy in Amarillo, Texas, which gives access to customized veterinary compounded prescriptions. The professional compounding of drugs gives us assurance of correct dosage delivery, quality control of chemicals, reduced chance of drug incompatibilities, and overall produces a prescription medicine that the veterinarian and client can trust to do the job it was intended for. Contact me if you are interested in discussing a complete health plan for your cattle.
If you have not visited Rogers Animal Hospital recently, we invite you to come in and see our newly renovated facility that includes in-house laboratory testing while you wait, and a new X-ray machine that produces high quality films that improve our diagnostic capabilities. We have an outstanding staff that is friendly and caring about your animal needs. If your dog or cat has grooming needs, we think we offer the best grooming service in Corsicana. Give us a chance to prove it to you.
Our goal at Rogers Animal Hospital is to provide complete veterinary services, large and small, that are better than the care we have supplied in the past. If you’re not trying to get better than you were, then you won’t! We want the reputation of providing superior service. If we can’t handle whatever problem your animal might encounter then we will refer you to the specialist DVM that can. If you are a long time client, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your loyalty. If you’ve never given us a chance to provide veterinary care for your animals, please give us a call the next time you are in need.
Sincerely,
Ricky C. Rogers, DVM
